Three Ho-Chunk casinos are scheduled to reopen on June 29, the Ho-Chunk Nation announced this week.
Health precautions to help minimize risk of the coronavirus, such as the requirement of patrons wearing facemasks and having their temperature checked, will be followed at the Wisconsin Dells, Black River Falls and Wittenberg casinos.
The hours for the casino in Wisconsin Dells will be 9 a.m. to 1 a.m., Black River Falls from 8 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Wednesday and until 2 a.m. from Thursday through Saturday, and Wittenberg will run from from 8 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday and until 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
Smoking will continue to not be allowed inside the casino, but there will be designated smoking areas outside, officials said in a press release.
Hand sanitizers will be located at each point of transaction and employees who come in close contact with guests will be issued face shields.
Social distancing markings also will be placed on the floor.
Ho-Chunk Nation’s Madison casino was the first to reopen on May 27 after the lifting of the state’s safer-at-home order.
Only a portion of the slot machines are in operation to encourage social distancing.
Guests are also required to wear facemasks in the building and casino staff and security have been reminding patrons to put their masks back on should they fall off inside.
The CDC recommends wearing a facemask in a crowded place and to maintain 6 feet of distance to slow the spread of COVID-19.
The virus is still spreading in the state, although it has been slowed, and there is no vaccine.
